Tour Description
Autumn in Japan is the most comfortable season of the year. It’s no wonder that many visitors choose the months of September, October and November to visit Japan. As in other seasons, “The Golden Route” is our most popular itinerary.
This tour gives you a taste of everything Japan has to offer, from unique places to “must see” tourist attractions in Tokyo and Kyoto. This is the reverse itinerary, starting with Nara, where you will be inspired by the intricate architecture and towering monuments, including the Big Buddha statue, and understand why this city is considered the cradle of Buddhism in Japan.
Spend two days in the ancient city of Kyoto, where you will have exclusive access to the city’s gardens, temples, shrines, castles, and specialty shops. On our fall itinerary, we will also visit Arashiyama for its famous Togetsu Bridge, bamboo groves and Tenryuji temple where you can take a look at the traditional design of the Zen landscape garden. You will also have the chance to experience a green tea ceremony, taste sake and see a kimono fashion show.
Visit the Miho Museum, an impressive architecture that accentuates the surrounding nature while displaying a variety of items from different ancient civilizations. It was designed by the famous architect, I. M. Pei, and is named after Koyama Mihoko, one of the richest women in Japan and founder of the museum. In addition, the museum has been listed as one of the “1000 places to see before you die”.
Then take a Shinkansen (bullet train) ride for your experience, stay at an Onsen hotel (Japanese-style room), where you can relax in the hot springs and dine on gourmet kaiseki cuisine. Spend a day in Hakone and experience a cable car ride over its volcanic area before visiting the famous Mount Fuji. Continue your adventures in Tokyo, the most populous and famous city in Japan. Enjoy a guided tour of Tokyo’s cultural sights, trendy neighborhoods, and various shopping districts.
Learn how to make your own sushi from a professional sushi chef and savor his delicious creations. Explore attractions like the bustling streets of Shibuya, the Asakusa district with an old Tokyo atmosphere, Japan’s largest and busiest fish market, the historic Imperial Palace, and the record-breaking Tokyo Tower.
