Takayama maintains the living legacy of an important artisan tradition in its shops, temples and shrines. It is surrounded by mountains and you can enjoy nature and really know the authenticity of the tradition of the Japanese medieval era. The gastronomic fame of this place is due to the Hida beef and soba (wheat noodles).
On this 4-day tour, we will visit the Japanese Alps and ancient towns such as the world famous Shirakawa Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 1
From Tokyo we moved to Matsumoto City via Chuo Road by private car.
After our arrival, we head to Matsumoto Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Next, we continue to the City of Takayama enjoying the panorama of the Japanese Alps.

Day 2
Breakfast at the hotel.
Then, we are going to walk around the beautiful City of Takayama!
Open air market, the area of ”Sanmachi” where there are three main streets where it is full of restaurants, shops and old museums.
Finally we head to the legendary village of Shirakawa! This is very famous for the style in which the “Gassho-Zukuri” houses were built, which resemble two hands in prayer position.
Stay at Ryokan in Shirakawa.
Day 3
Breakfast at the hotel.
Then, we are going to enjoy a walk around the Shirakawa village.
We then move to the Suwa area and experience the relaxing hot springs (Onsen).
Stay in a Japanese family home, where we will experience unparalleled hospitality.
Day 4
After breakfast, we will visit Suwa City, Suwa Shrine and Takashima Castle.
Then we visit the Fuji area (the fifth station of Mount Fuji)
We return to Tokyo.
