Trip description
ARRIVAL OSAKA – TRANSFER TO KYOTO
Arrival at Kansai or Itami airport on your flight.
A Spanish or English speaking assistant will pick you up from the lobby on arrival
and will take you to the hotel in Kyoto.
Upon arrival at your hotel, the rest of the day is free for personal activities.
The visit begins in Kyoto, which is the ancient capital of Japan and remains the center of traditional religions and cultures.
In the morning you will visit Arashiyama where you will enjoy walking in the bamboo forest and the Zen garden of the Tenryuji Temple, it is the main temple of the Rinzai school and was built in 1339.
Then we will visit the Kinkakuji Temple which is known as the Golden Pavilion and declared as a World Heritage Site.
At noon you will be transferred to a local restaurant for your lunch.
You will continue your visit to Nijo Castle, it was built in 1603 and used as the residence of the Tokugawa shoguns in Kyoto until 1868.
You will then visit the Gion neighborhood. They will enjoy walking in this neighborhood that is known as the “Maiko” (Geisha in Kyoto) neighborhood, houses, temples and traditional shops are preserved and where you can feel the atmosphere of ancient Japan.
After, we will return to your hotel.
Visit to Fushimi & Nara with a guide by public transport.
In the morning visit the Shinto shrine of Fushimi Inari, it is the main shrine of about 40,000 Inari shrines within all of Japan. Walk in this sanctuary known for the stage with a thousand orange doors of Toriines.
After this visit we will move to Nara, it was the capital of Japan from 710 to 784 and they have some of the oldest temples and shrines in Japan.
You will visit Nara Park where you will find several deer that are recognized as sacred animals in this area and then you will visit the Todaiji Temple, where you can see the bronze statue of the Great Buddha of 15 meters that was built in 752.
After the visit transfer to a restaurant for your lunch and return to your hotel in Kyoto.
We will make the transfer to Kyoto station to Kanazawa in the express train “Thunder Bird”.
The city of Kanazawa was developed under one of the most important feudal families of the Edo period and was one of the most prosperous cities at that time.
You will visit the Kenrokuen Garden, it is known as one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan and one of the gardens of the most representative feudal lords in Japan.
After the visit we will go to the Nagamachi neighborhood, where middle and upper class samurai lived in the Edo period and it still has some Samurai houses. In this neighborhood visit the house of the Nomura Family, it is the houses of one of the most powerful families in Kanazawa. In the house you can get to know the traditional life of Samurai with the view of the traditional garden with pond.
After the visit, we will move to the Higashichayagai neighborhood, it is a neighborhood where many geishas lived and it still preserves the traditional houses.
We will have lunch at a local restaurant and return to your hotel in Kanazawa.
We will start the tour moving to the town of Gokayama, it is a remote place with traditional houses with thatched roofs in the “Gassho Zukuri” style and declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the Shirakawago people.
In this town you will visit one of the “Gassho dukuri” and “Washi no Sato” style houses where you will be able to have experience of making “Washi” products (paper made in the traditional Japanese style) by yourself.
After the visit, we will go to Takayma, it is a town located in the middle of the Japanese Alps and known for traditional architecture and festivals in the spring and autumn.
We will visit the Kamisanomachi neighborhood, it is a neighborhood with protected buildings and that gives the atmosphere of medieval times and Yatai Kaikan, is a museum where ornate floats used for the spring and autumn festivals are exhibited.
We will have lunch at a local restaurant and then return to your hotel in Takayama.

We will visit a morning market in Takayama where local people sell fresh produce and handicrafts, and then leave for Tsumago.
We will arrive at Tsumago, a small town that was an important stop on the Nakasendo road (it was one of the main connecting routes between Kyoto and Tokyo during the Edo period) and restored the historical buildings by the efforts of locals and strict rules. In Tsumago you will visit Waki Honjin, it is an old samurai inn
After the visit, we will transfer to Nakatsugawa station heading to Nagoya by express-limited train from “Shinano”.
Arrival in Nagoya.
Depart Nagoya for Odawara by bullet train.
Arrival in Odawara and transfer to your hotel in Hakone where you will enjoy Onsen (hot springs).
Dinner at the hotel included.
Overnight at your hotel in Hakone for 1 night.
Breakfast at the hotel.
Meeting point: Hotel Lobby.
Visit to Hakone, located in the Fuji-Hakone-Izu national park and was an important stop
on the Tokaido route during the Edo period. Now many tourists visit here to enjoy Onsen
and nature of spectacular beauty.
In Hakone you will take the cable car to see the panoramic view of the national park and the landscape with the
Mount Fuji if the weather conditions allow it and you will enjoy a mini-cruise in Lake Ahi that
originated 300 thousand years ago by one of the eruptions of the Hakone volcano,

After the visit, departure to Tokyo.
Arrival in Tokyo. The capital of Japan that has more than
12 million population is the center of political, economic,
the culture and fashion of the country.
Visit to the Tokyo Tower, the tower painted in white was the tallest building until 2010 and even now it is recognized as the symbol of Tokyo.
After the visit, transfer to your hotel.
Accommodation at your hotel in Tokyo for 3 nights.

Meeting point: Hotel Lobby.
Visit Tokyo for half a day with your guide.
Visit to the garden of the Imperial Palace, it is the residence of the Emperor of Japan since the Meiji period.
Visit to Asakusa, it is the historical center of Tokyo. Here you will visit Sensoji Temple, it is the oldest temple in Tokyo and Nakamise Street, a 250 meter shopping street and where there are stalls that sell souvenirs and souvenirs, crafts and typical and traditional sweets in Tokyo.
We visit Akihabara, it is the neighborhood of electronics and technology and also a center of pop culture
like anime and manga.
At the end you will visit Shibuya, it is a fashionable shopping center in Tokyo and known for the crossing and the
Hachiko dog statue.
The tour ends in Shibuya and the rest of the day is free for activities-
Return to the hotel on your own.

**** OPTIONAL TOUR: EXCURSION TO NIKKO ****
Meeting point: Hotel Lobby.
Begin the excursion to Nikko by private coach with a Spanish-speaking guide.
Arrival in Nikko, it is the place surrounded by beautiful nature and has been worshiped as a Shinto and Buddhist shrine since ancient times.
In Nikko visit the Shinto Shrine of Toshogu, it is the mausoleum of the first shogun of
Tokugawa and consists of several buildings and luxurious decorated pavilions, declared as
UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Visit to Lake Chuzenji, it is a lake in the Nikko National Park created about 20,000 years ago
when the Nantai volcano erupted.
Visit to Kegon waterfall, it is known as one of the three excellent waterfalls in Japan. Tourists will go up in an elevator to observe the waterfall from very close.

After the visit, I return to Tokyo.
Overnight at your hotel in Tokyo.

Meet in the hotel lobby with the Spanish or English speaking assistant and
airport transfer .
Depart from the airport on your flight.
