Fantastic sculpture in a beautiful mountainous valley.
Deep in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, Chokoku no Mori combines breathtaking mountain scenery with works of art. Sitting in harmony with nature, the park features sculptures by world-famous artists such as Rodin, Miró, Anthony Gormley and Henry Moore, who proclaimed that “sculpture is an art in the open air.” The museum also includes indoor exhibits and a permanent Picasso pavilion.
The park’s wide spaces make it a fun place for kids to carry out and there are many interactive sculptures that double as climbing structures for kids to climb. Finish the day with a foot bath in the outdoor hot spring foot bath.
