Naoshima’s best bathhouse is unlike any other in Japan. Crazy modern art meets traditional relaxation.
A cheeky play on words: yuu is the Japanese word for spa. On the art island of Naoshima, I Love Yuu is a modern art installation unto itself. This indoor bathhouse is a riot of kitsch with pink plastic palm trees, patterned mosaics and a bathroom lined with erotic magazines, all overlooked by an elephant statue. Designed by artist Otake Shinro, the bathhouse is made from recycled materials sourced from all over Japan.
