This stadium was built in 1986, has a capacity of approximately 30,000 spectators: Infield 14,390 seats (seats behind the plate: 3,965), Outfield 15,610 seats (around the field).
As an interesting fact, the Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium is part of the Azuma Sports Park, which is divided into four recreational spaces: the Sports Area, the Natural Area, the Family Area and the Historic Area. It is currently used primarily for baseball games.
It will host the inaugural baseball game (July 29, 2020), as well as six softball games (July 22 and 23) during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Olympic baseball and softball events to be held at this stadium are scheduled to play a special role, with a total of seven games, the first six softball games and the first baseball game.
