Located in the foothills of Hakuba Sanzan, northwest of Nagano, Hakuba is a mountain resort popular with sports and mountain lovers, as well as those looking to enjoy the hot springs. You can go hiking, climbing, skiing or playing tennis while enjoying a beautiful view of the Japanese Alps. After the effort, nothing better than relaxing in the many onsen in the city.
Among the four public baths managed by the city, it is the one that offers the best view of the Hakuba Mountains
This private museum has nearly 500 works by Marc Chagall.

The museum has a hundred paintings and drawings of the Hakuba Mountains by famous Japanese artists such as Kazuo Tamura.
This typical merchant house, traditional from the Edo period, has been restored to offer visitors a glimpse of life at that time, and allows visitors to experience various aspects of Japanese culture, such as preparing soba (buckwheat noodles), kimono, calligraphy, tea ceremony and origami.
Used for the ski jumping events of the 1998 Winter Olympics, there are 60 meters of track open to the public. There is also an exhibition hall related to the Olympic Games.
At 2,000 meters above sea level is this vast swamp. An elevated wooden path allows you to walk and explore the alpine flora. The complete tour takes about 3 hours.
