Osaka’s massive Ring of Fire Aquarium is a fantastic excursion for adults and children alike.
Osaka has one of the most popular aquariums in Japan, located in the port area of the city. The aquarium has 15 tanks each representing a different area of the edge of the Pacific Ocean known as the Ring of Fire. The main central tank is 9 meters deep and is home to a beautiful whale shark. Look out for hugely attractive sea otters and spooky giant spider crabs. The gelatin display has won awards for its innovative use of ultraviolet light to illuminate these ghostly organisms.
Be sure to stop by the gift shop on the way out for a chance to pick up an extremely cute memento of your day at the Ring of Fire Aquarium.
